In 2006 Ferranti Ltd led the buy-out of Jones & Shipman and Holroyd which were the machine tools divisions of Renold PLC. This was further merged with Yorkshire Machine tool. Jones & Shipman was successfully exited to Kellenberger, part of the Hardinge Group and the rest of the business was sold to Chongqing Machinery and Electrical Company in 2010. This was one of the UK’s first exits to a Chinese company.
